Maternity session in Charleston SC – Baby Green

Being a photographer in Charleston South Carolina means never having to look very far for a beautiful place for a photo shoot. Add in one of your very favorite clients who is about to start a new life adventure with a new baby boy and Voila!! Stunning photographs to share!!

Alissa and I hit it off the 1st time we talked over the phone when I was traveling back from Florida. Now after Engagement sessions, bridal sessions, a wedding, and a baby reveal, we made it to her Maternity session for Baby Green! She almost didn’t make it to our scheduled session as Baby Green attempted to make an early appearance. Undeterred, Alissa told him to stay put and we got a chance to walk around one of my favorite sections of Downtown Charleston. We had the BEST time creating these images!

Reginald Eugene Green III was born March 22nd at 10:50am. I can’t wait to meet him for his 1st photo shoot!

Myrtle Beach Newborn Photographer | Meet Jameson

Babies really are a blessing. It is an amazing process for 2 people to create each little life and it’s an amazing feat of strength by the mother to carry each little life for 9 months. Each birth is as dramatic as the next and in the end is this squishy, cuddly, amazing ball of personality that you can’t help but fall in love with instantly! And so another little life was born on September 6th, 2017 to Jennifer and Jacob – his name is Jameson Deacon and he is adorable as his name sounds.

Funny enough, Jennifer’s due date was the same as my 1st daughters, Alexis, on August 30th but Jameson, just like Alexis, decided that he wasn’t ready to appear. So he made his dramatic appearance on September 6th – which also happen’s to be Alexis’s birthday – just 13 years apart. Jacob and Jennifer and completely smitten, and rightly so, he is a sweet little soul.

Jameson was so good during his 1st photography session. He slept through most of it but every once in a while we would get the one eyed stare looking to see if we were all still there. His furry brother was happy to be apart of the session as well.

Welcome to this beautiful world Jameson! I hope that your journey through life is filled with laughter, adventure, and lots and lots of love!

Charlotte Eileen is 6 months by Myrtle Beach Photographer Gillian Claire

What happens when a wedding planner has a baby and you get to photograph said babies 1st year?? Magic that’s what! Leslie Menich with Memorable Moments Event Planning definitely has an eye for style! It started with her stunning Maternity session, then the beautiful lifestyle newborn session, and for baby Charlotte’s 6 month session we decided to keep it in the studio – with LOTS of bright beautiful colors!

Little miss Charlotte can be a tough nut to crack sometimes. She always gets so serious every time I put the camera in her face. Not this session though! She was all smiles and funny faces. Since Leslie is a fashion lover it’s only appropriate that Charlotte be dressed to the 9’s! I loved her coral outfit which went PERFECTLY with my teal backdrop in my studio! I don’t get to use it often but when I do it’s so bright and beautiful! I am so in love with the way these turned out!

Can’t wait for Miss Charlotte’s next session!

Incredible Wilmington Maternity Session

Life is so beautiful! There is no better example of this than a woman who is pregnant, patiently waiting on the birth of her child. Lauren is the perfect example of this. She glows inside and out, she is truly enjoying waiting to meet her little girl.

Lauren and her family have been family friends for several years now. When her mom contacted me about doing a Maternity session for Lauren I just knew this was going to be fun! Lauren told me that she wanted to do some at her family home and some on the beach in beautiful Wilmington. The 2 settings couldn’t have been more perfect! Her mother is an amazing gardener and her family home back yard is stunning! Plus it really meant something to Lauren to be able to photograph there. She chose a sweet little bohemian style dress for the garden photo’s. It went very well with her laid back personality. The beaches in Wilmington are so natural and untouched looking. I loved her Kimono for the beach and the way it caught the wind! She is one beautiful, strong, Momma-to-be.

Thank you again Lauren for allowing me to capture these memories for you! Can’t wait to meet your sweet little princess!

Dreamy Maternity Portraits amongst the Southern Oaks – The Hart Family

Motherhood is an amazing miracle! Mom is glowing and excited, Dad is patiently waiting to meet their new little one, and in the case of the Hart Family, Lyla just can’t wait to meet her new baby sister! She didn’t have to wait long.

When Jennifer called and asked about Maternity/Family photos I was completely excited!!! It’s very gratifying to have someone in your industry commission you to do work for them. To have another artist look at your work and say “I would like to have some of that on my wall thank you!” it really kind of puts you on cloud 9. Kind of like when Pasha Belman of Pasha Belman Photography had me photograph his family last year, I was honored! What’s great about when another artist hires you, they usually have a good idea of what they are looking for but they usually relinquish creative control to you because they know that an artist works best when they are not micromanaged. I will admit, I do work best when I work with someone and they just hand it all over to me. My brain works better that way!

It was an amazing shoot! The weather was perfect, Wachesaw Plantation was the perfect backdrop, and the flowers were in full bloom! Mom, being an artist and photographer, had a good idea of how she wanted these last images of their family of 3 to look. She herself made the adorable flower crowns for her and her daughter, who of course absolutely refused to wear them. Thomas, the amazing videographer of Hart to Heart Media, wore his signature stylish hat. Her dress from SilkFairies was just beautiful on her. She really glowed!

Sawyer Rhodes was born last week and the family is over the moon. I can’t wait to meet her!

Meet Baby Jett – Myrtle Beach Newborn Photographer

Children are fun and frustrating, beautiful and messy, exciting and exhausting! They are the most difficult thing we will ever take on as adults BUT also the most rewarding. Babies are this times 100! The good and bad news is that this phase doesn’t last long and even though it’s hard at the time, you will miss it terribly when it’s over. Scott and Samantha are 2 parents running the gauntlet of having a newborn – Meet baby Jett!

I had the distinct honor of photographing DJ Scott & Samantha’s wedding back in 2011 – it’s how we met. It’s still one of the most fun weddings I have ever photographed! Scott started DJ Scott & Company shortly after the wedding (seriously if you don’t know who this guy is you need to check him out!!). Samantha owns Southern Cinderella’s Cleaning company (seriously, if you don’t know her either you need too!!). So they own 2 business just like my husband and I. We have been friends ever since. We’ve traveled to South Florida several times together – which is always a blast! They had spoken about kids several times but just weren’t ready to take the plunge. Last year though, I ran into Samantha in the grocery story by accident and I noticed she had crackers in her cart and she looked a little tired. She told me that she had just found out that she was pregnant. Of course my reaction was “WOO HOO!!” I think she was still trying to soak it all in. Her pregnancy was no cakewalk but Samantha is an amazingly strong woman, so she handled it all better than most women would I think Baby Jett took his sweet time making his appearance and on April 21st weighing in at more than 8 lbs, he arrived. And he has been a handful since. His big furry brother Drama is still getting used to him. I’m not sure he likes the crying too much but he also wasn’t too happy about me messing with him during our 1st photo session. He followed us around, I think to make sure that I was doing my job properly and not messing with his baby brother too much.

Thank you guys for allowing me to record his 1st days in the world. I know it seems hard right now but you guys are wonderful people and you are fabulous parents. Soak up every minute because all too soon it will be gone, and no matter how hard it seems right now, you will miss it when he’s all grown up. Love you guys!! I think we need to do Wine soon!!

Myrtle Beach Newborn Photographer – Welcome to the world Charlotte!

Oh the sweetness – I just can’t handle it! Charlotte was born 3 days before my birthday in November (so she is a Sagittarius just like me – yay! Momma you will have your hands full just a heads up and boy did she make a dramatic entrance – as every good woman should My very dear friends Leslie & Jeremy, and even her furry sister Izzy were so excited to finally meet her! Leslie spent so much time before her arrival putting together her beautiful nursery – I absolutely LOVE the beautiful color scheme! Most of the sweet details were either refinished pieces by family, Leslie’s mom refinished the dresser (Love it!), or they were heirloom pieces like her grandmothers decorative mirror on the wall or the baby crib that had been passed down to welcome Charlotte.

I am so excited for you guys to begin this new journey in your lives together. Babies, especially little girls, are a true blessing. I am going to have to come over soon though to get some Charlotte snuggles

My favorite moments of 2015 – it was a great year

I still actually don’t believe it myself but 2015 is almost O V E R!!! Oi!!! Each year seems like it slips by faster and faster. This year though, I was determined to slow down, really observe a little more instead of being a bull in a china shop – I tend to get really excited about everything I wanted to work smarter not harder so that I could throw more of my creativity into each and every shoot. Looking over these images – I feel like I accomplished that As I was gathering all these images, I found myself smiling and remembering everyone who graced my lens this year. Remembering how happy everyone seemed to be. I feel I was able to collaborate well with everyone on exactly what they were looking for from their sessions and at the same time, everyone was willing to let me – well – be me

As this New Year aggressively approaches, I wish a light for everyone who feels the dark is too close, a warm embrace for everyone who needs just a little love, and hope for all so that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

I truly hope that everyone of my clients had a truly fun time with me this year – I really enjoyed working with ALL of you! There are some really fun things happening in 2016 so stay tuned . . .

Beautiful Maternity Session – Leslie Menich – Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

This session was special in so many ways! Mostly because Leslie is a very dear friend and I was very honored when she asked me to photograph such a wonderful time in her and her husband, Jeremy’s life. She also happens to be the most fabulous Wedding and Event planner with Memorable Moments Event Planning in Myrtle Beach! So I just knew that she was going to have everything planned out and looking fabulous!

She had her friend Robbie with RSG Event Designs to create an absolutely gorgeous flower crown and she matched her coral dress to the decor in her soon to arrive baby girls room. Her earrings and “Wineman” father necklace were the ever fabulous Ashley Hoffman Jewelry.

She just glows don’t you think? I think Motherhood suites her well She is due 1 week from now and I am just so excited to meet her baby girl!! I’ll have a bottle of wine waiting for ya Momma!!
