House of Blues Myrtle Beach Wedding | Emily and Jeremy | Gillian Claire

One of the most wonderful things about modern weddings is that there is no right or wrong way to pull one off.  Your wedding can be a reflection of who you are individually and as a couple.  If you want to scratch all the items considered normal such as a garter or bouquet toss – do it!  If you want to have your beloved dog be the videographer and ring-bearer  – go for it!  If you want to simply have your closest family and friends to your home for the ceremony and then head off to a big party – be my guest!  This wedding has all the wonderful items that the bride and groom wanted without all the things they didn’t.  Meet Emily and Jeremy – the Anti-bride and groom!  Emily knew she wanted to marry Jeremy and that was pretty much the only thing she was unwavering about.  Everything else could just work it’s way out as far as she was concerned.  I remember speaking with her right before the wedding and as cool and confident as can be she said, “I’m such an anti-bride.”  But I believe she was not the anti-bride, she was everything a modern bride is.  She decided to have the wedding exactly the way she wanted and nothing that she didn’t.

She and Jeremy had the ceremony in their beautiful back yard, surrounded by their very closest friends and family.  Their sweet lab Rai (pronounced RYE) was their ring-bearer and videographer – which was amazing by the way.  They strapped a go-pro to the dog and I’m sure that there is some interesting footage from that point of view.  After the ceremony, they dug up the bottle of Bourbon (which is a fabulous southern wedding tradition that if you don’t know about you can read about HERE) and headed off to a really fun reception on the Deck at the House of Blues!  Rai still continued the job of fabulous Videographer and they spent the rest of the evening with family and friends.  It couldn’t have been a more perfect wedding.

Thanks to the wonderful vendors who helped create this wonderful wedding.  Quite a few items such as the cake and the reception centerpieces were created by the bride or the family.
