Bridal Portrait at the Governors House Inn in Charleston, SC by Gillian Claire Photography

Bride with veil standing in the doorway at the Governors House Inn in Charleston SC

If ever there was a bride that was beautiful on the outside and amazing on the inside it was Mrs. Mary Marshall. She also has one big, fun personality to go with it!

Mary Marshall and I met at her friend Kacey’s wedding 5 years ago when I photographed it. She remembered me when she got engaged which definitely made my day.  I could not have been more excited!  I knew that her bridal session was extremely important to her so we planned it in the most romantic city there is; Charleston at the Governors House Inn.  It was the perfect spot!  This placed screamed southern belle mansion and her dress was EPIC!   I remember her describing it to me as a cupcake and she couldn’t have described it better.  It fit her and her personality like a glove.  The Lazaro Gown had a stunning crystal encrusted bodice. The skirt was all ruffles and was ombre going from Ivory to blush pink.  Her long veil was definitely the touch to top off this beautiful creation!  It was exactly as she had imagined it from the time she was a little girl.  Perfect.  Her friend Meg Workman did an amazing job with her hair and makeup!

A big shout out to her wedding planner Jaqueline Volz with Sweetgrass Social for helping us secure the Governors House Inn and for all the amazing work on her wedding day (wedding images to follow soon!)
